It is used to assist in the diagnosis of plasma cell disorders including multiple myeloma primary amyloidosis monoclonal gammopathy of unknown significance mgus. The most common biclonal gammopathy was igg kappa igg lambda followed by igg kappa igm lambda. Using assays for monoclonal m proteins electrophoresis immunofixation and kappa lambda free light chains flcs we determined longitudinally the prevalence of mgus and characterized patterns of monoclonal immunoglobulin abnormalities prior to mm diagnosis.
